Caitlin Nugent
Always a person who will stop and smell the roses no matter what else is going on - I realized early in life how incredibly powerful it is to tap into my inherent connection with plants, flowers, and the natural world. It all started with collecting rocks, climbing trees, and immersing myself in nature by doing everything outside as a kid. At the early age of 15, I was fortunate enough to get hired at a local flower shop where I became absolutely enchanted by flowers and floral design in general! My admiration for florals continued to grow as I got older and added in experiences working at other floral studios, greenhouses, landscaping, and eventually having the opportunity to cultivate and care for my own garden. After graduating from Kent State with a focus on apparel design, I moved around the country designing clothing for over 6 years, all the while continuing to hone my floral design skills on the side. My time in the fashion industry helped me gain appreciation for everything that goes into large scale events and showed me the importance of creating an atmosphere surrounding my designs. I learned how all of the tiniest details have such an enormous impact on one's overall feeling, energy, and experience relating to any design, occasion, or even moment in time. Creating those captivating moments and finding ways to help people positively connect with each other and their surroundings has since become one of my greatest passions in life. It is both a privilege and an honor to join the Prema team in translating your dreams and vision into an experience beyond words and imagination.
If you were a Bloom what would you be?
A hellebore (Winter rose)
What would your perfect day consist of?
Waking up without any alarm to eat breakfast, drink coffee, and catch morning sun rays while watering my garden. A relaxed hike on a remote trail in the mountains or forest, somewhere that smells of rich soil and tree bark - where you can hear the breeze come through the trees. Wading into the river or ocean for a refreshing swim, followed by a casual dinner / gathering of close family and friends. Ending with a moonlit campfire, underneath the clear sky where you can see all the stars.
What are three words that describe your style?
Adventurous, eclectic, imaginative
