Colby Friedman

I have been visual merchandising for over 25 years across several different well known retail environments including textiles, beauty and home furnishings.  This is my first foray into floral design so I am excited to take what I have learned and translate it to this new yet very comparable endeavor. My style has always been tight control with elevated structure and purpose.  My goal as a floral designer is to let go a bit without losing my sense of order. In other words, controlled chaos would sum up what I’m attempting to achieve. I’m very appreciative to Prema Designs and Amrta Kenner for giving me this opportunity, believing in me and not taking NO for an answer.

If you were a Bloom what would you be?

It’s such a tough call for me, but if I was a bloom I would probably be lilac.  They are hearty, fragrant and beautiful to look at.

What would your perfect day consist of?

My perfect day would be on the beach.  Doesn’t matter what I’m doing as long as I’m there.

What are three words that describe your style?

Three words that describe my style would be natural, structured, and clean lines.
