Morgan Aranda

“A word after a word after a word is power.”

-Margaret Atwood

I like to think that flowers found me. When I was 17, I walked into a flower shop in my neighborhood in Chicago to order a boutonniere for my date for prom ... and walked out with a summer job! From there, my passion for flowers exploded. I started with the basics -- flower names and types, bucket washing, processing -- and somehow slowly convinced people to teach me to design arrangements. I worked my way through the elements of design, soaking in every lesson I possibly could from the talented people around me. Along the way I developed my own sense of style and furthered my passion for weddings and love of love; at my core I am a deeply sentimental, borderline cheesy, fiercely loving person and it doesn’t take much to make me happy-cry! The weddings I dream of are moody, lush, gardeny dreamscapes, utilizing every opportunity and surface to incorporate blooms, greenery, candlelight, and other elegant details. After working in both retail floral and wedding environments, I now have the honor and privilege of crafting dreams for the backdrop of one of the best days of peoples’ lives. 17 year old Morgan would be pretty proud of that! When I’m not pursuing flowers, I can be found cuddled up with my two kitties reading a book, drinking a delicious craft beer, or binging Bon Appetit youtube videos in the hopes of one day being a halfway decent home cook.

If you were a Bloom what would you be?

If I were a bloom I would be a vibrant stem of light purple foxglove

What would your perfect day consist of?

If I had to construct my ideal day, it would start with a perfect cup of coffee, followed by quality time with my favorite people somewhere warm and pleasant. I’d get to read a book completely uninterrupted by the burden of technology, then head home to cook a great meal and drink a beer (or a margarita) on the porch. I’m grateful that I get to do many of these things pretty frequently!

What are three words that describe your style?

Dreamy, moody, lush
